Aluminum Fabrication
American Shipbuilder Senesco Marine, best
known as a builder of large steel vessels has
expanded new construction operations to include
all phases of aluminum vessel fabrication. A
new full service, indoor aluminum production
area has been segregated within Senesco’s
eastern assembly building to accommodate all
clean aluminum construction work. The new
aluminum shop is set up with two (2) overhead
cranes, press brake, shear and various new
aluminum welding and cutting machines. The
large production area enables the yard to build
multiple aluminum vessels at the same time to
increase efficiencies and economies of scale for
production. In addition to the physical facility,
Senesco’s work force and in-house engineering
team enable the yard to handle all aspects of the
construction process and make key decisions to
ensure projects remain on budget and on
time.
Senesco’s impressive 26-acre facility on
Narragansett Bay, quality workmanship and
overall management processes have enabled
them to operate as a fully certified shipyard
by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS)
and DNV-GL. The U.S. Coast Guard has
also been extremely active within the yard as
U.S. Coast Guard Sub-Chapter D, M and L
vessels are being built. With the expansion
of aluminum production, Senesco has also
continued to improve steel vessel production
with the acquisition of new state of the art equipment and a
consistent highly skilled work force. Senesco Marine Repair has
added to its repair service the expertise of installation
and outfitting vessels with the Ballast Water Treatment
Systems and will have outfitted 5 vessels throughout
the 2019 period. Local New England workers have proven to be the
back bone for success at Senesco.
